We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Critical Care team at Ethos Veterinary Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our hospitalized patients requiring intensive monitoring.
Key Responsibilities- Triage and assess incoming patients to ensure timely and effective care
- Record accurate and detailed patient histories and SOAP notes
- Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients, including continuous evaluation and monitoring
- Demonstrate expertise in advanced hospitalization care and continuous rate infusions (CRIs)
- Perform in-house laboratory procedures and accurately record results
- Place intravenous (IV) catheters with precision and care
- Conduct thorough patient rounds and maintain accurate medical records
- Safely restrain fractious and frightened patients to minimize stress and anxiety
- Obtain temperature, pulse, and respiration (TPR) measurements and maintain accurate records
- Recognize situations requiring immediate attention from a veterinarian and take prompt action
- Act as a patient advocate and communicate effectively with clients to ensure their needs are met
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 3 consecutive years of clinical experience in the veterinary industry as a Registered Veterinary Technician or 3 years of experience as a Veterinary Assistant in an Emergency Room/Critical Care Unit setting
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with staff and clients
- Proficiency in mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices, estimates, and other related calculations
- Hold or obtain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role (waived if a valid CA-RVT license is held)
- Full-time position
- 4/10 schedule with flexibility required, including some holidays or weekends
- Overnight shift with a $5 paid differential
- Competitive hourly wage range of $25-$40
