SUMMARY:

Under general oversight, the Customer Service Representative II is responsible for ensuring that customer expectations are accurately identified and fully satisfied. This role may involve mentoring less experienced Customer Service Representatives or providing support to specific clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Processes customer orders through various channels including phone, fax, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Impacts the gross profit of Genuine Parts Company by negotiating sales and purchase prices within established guidelines.
  • May modify pricing for non-contract customers to align with competitive demands while maximizing profitability.
  • Develops strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business and enhance process efficiencies.
  • Manages inventory levels by ordering necessary items to meet customer needs.
  • Authorized to place orders without prior approval for amounts up to $5,000 per line and $10,000 per purchase order.
  • Expedites backorders and may prepare inventory for shipment to customers.
  • Responsible for sourcing products from branch inventory, distribution centers, or suppliers.
  • Identifies the most cost-effective shipping options for customer orders.
  • Handles customer returns as necessary.
  • May provide dedicated support to specific clients.
  • Assists junior Customer Service Representatives in addressing customer inquiries, locating products, and resolving issues.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
  • Responds to customer inquiries regarding products, provides pricing information, and processes orders. Due to experience and training, may handle more complex inquiries.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:


Typically requires a high school diploma or GED along with three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and prioritize time efficiently.
  • Proficient in computer applications.
  • Strong negotiation capabilities.
  • Basic understanding of product offerings.
  • Dependability, organizational skills, and attention to detail are essential.
