Under general oversight, the Customer Service Representative II guarantees that customer expectations are precisely identified and thoroughly fulfilled. This role may involve mentoring less experienced Customer Service Representatives or providing dedicated support to specific clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Processes customer orders through various channels including phone, fax, email, and in-person interactions.
- Affects the gross profit of Genuine Parts Company by negotiating pricing within established guidelines.
- Adjusts pricing for non-contract customers to align with market competition while optimizing profitability.
- Cultivates customer relationships to encourage repeat business and enhance process efficiencies.
- Manages inventory levels by ordering necessary items to meet customer demands.
- Authorized to place orders up to $5,000 per line and $10,000 per purchase order without prior approval.
- Expedites backorders and may prepare inventory for customer shipment.
- Responsible for sourcing products from branch, distribution center, or supplier inventories.
- Evaluates and selects the most cost-effective shipping methods for customer orders.
- Handles customer returns as needed.
- Provides assistance to less experienced Customer Service Representatives in addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues.
- Undertakes additional duties as assigned.
- Responds to customer inquiries regarding products, provides pricing information, and processes orders. May handle more complex inquiries due to experience and training.
Typically requires a high school diploma or GED along with three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in multitasking and effective time management.
- Strong computer proficiency.
- Excellent negotiation abilities.
- Basic understanding of product offerings.
- Dependability, organizational skills, and attention to detail are essential.
