Position Overview

Audacy is in search of a skilled and dynamic professional to take on the role of Lead Broadcast Engineer. This position is crucial for ensuring the seamless operation of our audio broadcasting services.

Key Responsibilities

Your Role Will Include:

  • Ensuring the reliability of all on-air and online broadcasting products, including FM, HD, and AM signals, as well as digital audio and streaming services.
  • Installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all equipment related to radio broadcasting, such as transmitters, antennas, satellite systems, automation tools, studio gear, remote equipment, generators, and telecommunication systems.
  • Setting up broadcasting apparatus at various locations, including studios and remote sites, while adhering to established engineering standards.
  • Assisting in the planning and development of technical facilities, encompassing studios, transmitters, communication systems, and data networks.
  • Creating educational materials and training operators on the use of technical equipment and systems.
  • Facilitating building maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Collaborating with external vendors to ensure service quality.

Required Qualifications

Essential Skills:

  • A minimum of two years' experience in maintaining broadcast facilities, with hands-on expertise in FM radio transmitters and contemporary studio equipment.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and IT, including familiarity with Google applications.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Availability for on-call support 24/7 on a rotating schedule.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with experience in remote troubleshooting.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

Desirable Skills:

  • Competence in component-level troubleshooting.
  • An associate's degree in electronics is preferred.
  • Knowledge of high voltage safety, RF exposure, and backup power systems.
  • Familiarity with FCC regulations.
  • Experience in project management and execution.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • SBE Certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements

The role may require frequent standing, walking, sitting, and using hands for various tasks. The ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds is necessary. Specific vision capabilities, including close and distance vision, are also required.
