Job Overview

Position: Retail Shift Leader

We are seeking a dedicated Retail Shift Leader for our client, a prestigious brand in the baking and kitchen sector. This role is pivotal in managing retail operations during assigned shifts.

General Summary

The Retail Shift Leader operates with a degree of autonomy and is accountable for all supervisory functions during their shift, including opening and closing procedures. This individual serves as a model for the retail team, delivering exceptional customer service, driving sales, and executing operational tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership:
    • Delegates daily responsibilities to team members and monitors task completion.
    • Conducts morning briefings to ensure all policies and operational standards are communicated and upheld.
    • Supports departmental objectives through informed decision-making and prioritization.
    • Collaborates with team leaders and management to maintain high customer service standards and acceptable staff conduct.
    • Works alongside other shift leaders to facilitate seamless shift transitions.
    • Engages in training for new hires and participates in team meetings.
    • Completes additional duties as required and acts as a consistent, positive role model.
    • Leads the shift to achieve outstanding customer service and operational efficiency.
  • Operational Duties:
    • Manages POS register operations according to established procedures.
    • Executes advanced POS functions, including sales reporting and receipt retrieval.
    • Handles cash deposits and maintains appropriate change funds.
    • Orders and manages supply inventory.
    • Processes bank deposits and checks.
    • Ensures compliance with all safety regulations and workplace policies.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in a retail environment is preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to think clearly and resolve issues with sound judgment.
  • Skilled in motivating staff while fostering a collaborative team atmosphere.
