Operations Supervisor for Personnel Recovery and Evacuation
Huntington Ingalls Industries is seeking a committed Operations Supervisor to oversee critical missions in support of U.S. Africa Command. In this role, you will be tasked with managing and directing the daily functions of deployed contractor teams, ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, and logistical support of aircraft, while providing vital leadership on-site. This position demands exceptional leadership capabilities, extensive experience in managing personnel recovery and evacuation operations, and the ability to collaborate effectively with government representatives and industry partners.
Core Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of deployed contractor teams
- Ensure effective management of aircraft operations, maintenance, and logistics
- Provide leadership and support to contractor personnel on-site
- Serve as the main point of contact for all operational activities
- Collaborate with government stakeholders
- Guarantee timely execution of tasks while adhering to budgetary constraints
- Prepare mission reports and various deliverables
- Perform additional responsibilities as required
Required Qualifications:
- Over 10 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity
- Proven experience in managing aircraft operations and logistics
- Current or previous qualifications for weaponry
- Eligibility to obtain a permit for firearm carry
- Must fulfill medical and dental readiness standards
- Possess a Secret clearance or the ability to acquire and maintain one
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) requirements
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Understanding of civilian aviation operations
- Strong leadership and communication abilities
- Capability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements:
This role may necessitate working in deployed and challenging environments. Candidates should be capable of lifting up to 75 lbs and meeting the physical and medical standards required for deployment. Adaptability and flexibility to diverse work settings are crucial.
