Job Overview

The Event Services Coordinator plays a crucial role in achieving designated event objectives that align with the hotel's overall performance metrics. This position involves providing exceptional service to clients and groups while ensuring adherence to the agreed-upon food and beverage minimums. Collaborating closely with the Director of Catering/Convention Services, the Event Services Coordinator aims to meet revenue targets, enhance client satisfaction scores, and fulfill food and beverage objectives for the establishment. The primary focus will be on social events, with the flexibility to manage corporate functions as needed.

Key Qualifications

+ A high school diploma or equivalent is required; prior experience in event coordination and catering sales is preferred.

+ A creative mindset and a solid understanding of food and beverage management/events are essential.

+ A valid driver's license for the relevant state is necessary.

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills are required to effectively negotiate, persuade, and influence other managerial staff, hotel guests, and corporate clients.

+ Familiarity with professional sales techniques is advantageous, including skills in opening, probing, supporting, and closing.

+ Proficiency in general computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite, is required.

+ The ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks simultaneously is essential; strong organizational and presentation skills are a must.

Responsibilities

+ Successfully achieve assigned client satisfaction scores, revenue objectives, and food and beverage targets.

+ Proactively engage in solicitation calls, conduct property tours, and entertain clients based on their specific needs.

+ Monitor and assess trends within the market segment.

+ Approach all interactions with guests and colleagues in a friendly, attentive, and service-oriented manner.

+ Adhere to the established regulations and standards of Aimbridge Hospitality, including catering and meeting standards and related sales metrics.

+ Develop a comprehensive understanding of hotel operations and policies, as well as those of relevant departments.

+ Ensure timely delivery of banquet event orders (within 10 days) while maintaining accuracy.

+ Communicate any changes promptly to affected departments and operations leaders.

+ Maintain a strong presence in the local community and relevant industry organizations.

+ Assist in the implementation and participation of special promotions related to direct sales segments, such as sales blitzes.

+ Attend required daily, weekly, and monthly meetings, along with any other functions as directed by management.

+ Perform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager or Director of Sales.
