Sustainability Program Facilitator and Trainer
The Sustainability Program Facilitator and Trainer is essential in advancing environmental consciousness, sustainable practices, and conservation initiatives. This role involves assisting in the development of environmental training packages, conducting initial response team training, and facilitating assessments. Responsibilities include crafting and delivering educational initiatives, organizing training events, and evaluating environmental compliance. You will review and analyze environmental programs and strategies, offer recommendations on best practices, and support the overarching mission of fostering a greener and more sustainable future.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Sustainability Program Facilitator and Trainer: $70K-$75K
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Full-time benefits encompass Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and additional potential benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change without prior notice.
Sustainability Program Facilitator and Trainer Responsibilities Include:
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for Spill Preparedness Training and Exercises.
- Act as the main point of contact for installation Spill Program Managers, Environmental Program Directors, and Training Officers.
- Assist installations in designing and planning exercises; provide training; help coordinate exercises; conduct assessments; and produce deliverables for review and submission.
- Support installations in exercise design and planning, training provision, exercise coordination, assessment execution, and deliverable production.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, contributing to the development of training checklists and documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and capable of data entry into SharePoint-based systems.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field; Coast Guard Type 1 and/or 2 incident experience preferred.
- Experience on a Strike Team, Incident Command System (ICS), Pollution Responder, or as a Federal On-Scene Commander Representative.
- Experience with National or Regional Response Teams.
- Relevant experience in real-world responses in TIER 3 or TIER 1 incidents.
- Strong knowledge of the Oil Pollution Action of 1990 (OPA-90); National Preparedness for Response Exercise Program (PREP) guidelines; and applicable spill contingency plans.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with various management levels.
- Ability to collaborate with different departments and cross-functional teams, managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing schedules.
- Strong analytical and business writing skills are essential.
- Secret or higher security clearance is preferred, or candidates will be vetted as appropriate on a case-by-case basis.
- Familiarity with Kanban project management methods is advantageous.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team, contributing to the development of training materials.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and capable of data entry into SharePoint-based systems.
- Must successfully complete pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
