Position Overview:

The Corrections Transition Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the casework and implementation of Certified Treatment programs across various detention facilities. This position primarily operates from the Claiborne Parish Detention Center and involves travel to Union and Lincoln Parish Detention Centers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the development of comprehensive post-release plans for inmates, focusing on essential skills such as employment readiness, financial management, and personal development.
  • Provide guidance in areas including problem-solving, decision-making, anger management, and victim awareness.
  • Establish and nurture partnerships with state agencies, community organizations, and faith-based groups to enhance reentry initiatives.
  • Assist inmates in securing appropriate transition housing that aligns with their needs for successful reintegration into society.
  • Maintain accurate records, prepare detailed reports, and manage correspondence related to the Corrections Organized for Reentry (CORe) program.
