ECEI Trainer
Position Summary:
The Early Childhood Education Institute is seeking a dedicated full-time trainer to support early childhood initiatives, focusing on both pre-service and in-service training programs.
60% Administrative Duties
- Processing applications for program enrollment
- Managing all required documentation (admission, midterm & final reports) for LA Pathways & Louisiana Department of Education
- Collaborating with the CHSE grants office for billing and invoicing
- Acquiring necessary program materials, including technology and educational resources
- Working with IT to secure LSU email accounts for participants
- Handling all necessary documentation for LA Pathways & LDOE
- Coordinating with the ECAC Administrative Coordinator and CHSE grants office for billing and invoicing
- Overseeing the procurement of program materials
- Maintaining the LSU ECAC Moodle platform
- Leading weekly discussions for each 6-month cohort, including CLASS observations and CDA Portfolio preparation
- Supervising CLASS observers and graders
- Ensuring compliance with approved BESE program standards
- Resolving student IT issues
- Providing weekly feedback to students based on CDA topic area criteria
- Utilizing the track changes feature in Word for constructive feedback
- Uploading revised documents to the LSU ECAC Moodle site or designated platform
- Communicating with students via email or phone to clarify feedback as necessary
- Maintaining CLASS reliability in Infant, Toddler, or Preschool
- Ensuring reliability in the age group being observed
- Evaluating student videos in GoReact and providing written feedback
- Scheduling and conducting feedback meetings with students and center directors
- Maintaining certification as a CPR/First Aid Instructor for infants and children
- Processing applications for program enrollment
- Coordinating with the CHSE grants office for billing and invoicing
- Scheduling regular training sessions
- Delivering courses and administering exams
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required.

Preferred Qualifications:1-3 years of experience in childcare or early childhood education is preferred.
Additional Requirements:
Minor Contact - This position involves responsibilities that require interaction with minors. A background check, including fingerprinting and a National Sex Offender Registry check, is mandatory.
FERPA - As with all LSU employees, this position entails an obligation to assist students in obtaining necessary services.
Should a student require assistance with emotional, behavioral, or mental health issues, they should be referred to the appropriate services within the Student Health Center.
In cases where a student poses a potential danger to themselves or others, immediate contact with the Care Team, the Dean of Students, or the appropriate law enforcement agency is required.
