This opportunity is part of the Cyber & Electronic Warfare sector within HII's Mission Technologies division. HII plays a crucial role in supporting our nation's intelligence and cyber operations communities to safeguard our interests in the digital realm.

Job Responsibilities:
As a Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining development systems, including security patches, kernel updates, and operating system updates.
  • Utilizing established procedures to identify, troubleshoot, and diagnose hardware failures, restoring system functionality.
  • Providing administrative support, including user account management, security group oversight, and shared resource configuration.
  • Managing data transfers between networks as required.
  • Acquiring and configuring PCs for new team members.
  • Overseeing printer toner inventory and replacing cartridges as necessary.
  • Maintaining system documentation and inventory databases.
  • Performing additional infrastructure maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Reviewing, understanding, and creating technical documentation and diagrams.
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems, servers, and applications, including virtual machines and hypervisors (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting network infrastructure, ensuring network integrity and performance.
  • Modifying group policies on various baseline images to meet evolving security standards.
  • Developing and maintaining scripts to automate routine tasks and enhance efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or 1 year of relevant experience with a Master's degree; or a High School Diploma or equivalent with 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Current CompTIA Security+ or DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification.
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Windows OS, and Windows Server OS.
  • An understanding of the OSI networking model.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, reach, and stoop.
  • The capability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces.
  • A Secret clearance is required to start, with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance with advanced checks.

Preferred Qualifications:
Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:

  • An active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Experience in configuring and managing VPN connections to remote sites.
  • Other IT/technical certifications beyond those listed.
  • Experience in classified environments.
  • Familiarity with NIPR, SIPR, and other DoD networks.
  • Experience with various databases, including SQL and relational data stores.
  • Experience with Linux OS.

Physical Requirements:
Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity are necessary to meet the demands of the Systems Analyst role.
