The Senior Systems Engineer will offer comprehensive, cross-disciplinary assistance to government system acquisition management offices, acting as a key advisor to government staff. This role involves leading collaborative groups and crafting engineering solutions to significant acquisition challenges. You will engage with various projects across multiple DoD acquisition offices, regularly interfacing with senior government officials, and will often be tasked with delivering presentations and steering large-scale meetings. This position allows for flexibility with travel and remote work options to support a range of federal and commercial clients as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide multi-disciplinary assistance to government system acquisition management offices.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to government personnel.
  • Lead working groups and devise engineering solutions for major acquisition challenges.
  • Support diverse projects for various DoD acquisition offices.
  • Collaborate with senior government officials and deliver briefings.
  • Facilitate large meetings and discussions.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • An active DoD Secret clearance.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of extensive technical and managerial experience within the DoD, particularly in systems engineering analysis for major acquisition programs.
  • Specialized knowledge in Airworthiness.
  • Familiarity with MIL-HDBK-516.
  • A self-motivated, detail-oriented approach, with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The capacity to travel up to 20% of the time.

Preferred Experience:

  • Top Secret clearance, with SCI eligibility.
  • A Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Previous experience as a Chief Engineer for ACAT programs.
  • Expert-level knowledge of all sections of MIL-HDBK-516.
  • Experience integrating models with modern requirements management and systems engineering software.
  • Ability to develop and enhance system models using existing requirements and design documents.
  • Prior experience collaborating with other DoD stakeholders.
  • Experience executing alternative or rapid acquisition authorities.
  • A broad background in developing, coordinating, and communicating system engineering strategies with mid- and senior-level personnel.
