Position Overview:

Serco North America is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to contribute to innovative Air Force initiatives. This role is crucial for supporting the Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Program Office, focusing on the modernization and maintenance of various GPS technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the technical dimensions of acquisition programs, ensuring effective planning and execution.
  • Collaborate with senior government officials, providing expert technical briefings to program leadership.
  • Act as a technical advisor, delivering insights to government personnel.
  • Contribute to project leadership and Integrated Product Teams, facilitating meetings and conferences.
  • Deliver technical management and engineering support services to enhance the delivery of multiple GPS modernization initiatives, including:
    • Systems engineering planning, requirements generation, and task execution for various GPS programs.
    • Assessing civil and military mandates related to Assured Positioning, Navigation, and Timing requirements.
    • Developing and evaluating technical requirements, program strategies, and system engineering plans.
    • Conducting engineering trade studies and technical analyses.
    • Evaluating the integration and deployment of modernized GPS systems across military platforms.
    • Assessing the technical performance of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and their proposed solutions.

Qualifications:

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • An active DoD Secret security clearance is mandatory.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is essential.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is expected.
  • Familiarity with defense acquisition management processes as outlined in the DoD 5000 series directives.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • A solid understanding of the OSD and USAF Acquisition organizations is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% is required.

Preferred Skills:

  • 10 years of related experience, with 4 years in a System Program Office.
  • Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering principles.
  • Experience with GPS integration on military platforms.
  • Level II DAWIA Certification in Systems Planning, Research, Development & Engineering is advantageous.
