Position Overview:
As an Avionics Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in Department of Defense (DoD) and Air Force (AF) engineering principles to enhance the performance and sustainability of current and future weapon systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize your knowledge of avionics engineering to support the definition, development, integration, and verification of avionics subsystems.
- Engage in Aircraft Information Management Systems (AIMS) requirements, testing, and certification, as well as spectrum management.
- Define requirements and complete compliance matrices for Communications, Navigation, Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) systems.
- Participate in systems analyses, focusing on avionics system design and feasibility assessments.
- Attend technical reviews, providing guidance on the integration of new hardware and software into existing systems.
- Review technical documentation to ensure compliance with specifications and airworthiness standards.
- Support technical interchange meetings related to controls, displays, data buses, and data recording equipment.
- Assist in the development of requirements for future upgrades to avionics equipment.
- Translate user requirements into weapon system specifications for design, development, and testing.
- Participate in milestone preparation and provide engineering evaluations for operational and support issues.
Qualifications:
- BS/MS degree in an ABET-accredited engineering discipline.
- A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in avionics engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant applications.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
