Position Overview

Serco is offering an exciting opportunity for a skilled Systems Engineer to contribute to significant Air Force initiatives. This role is based at a military installation and requires a commitment to on-site work.

Security Clearance Requirement

Applicants must possess or be able to obtain an active DoD Secret security clearance.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will be involved in the following activities:
  • Planning and executing technical elements of acquisition programs.
  • Collaborating with senior government officials and delivering technical presentations to program leadership.
  • Acting as a technical consultant to government teams.
  • Providing expertise to project leads, Integrated Product Teams, and during various meetings.
  • Delivering technical management and engineering support to ensure the successful execution of multiple GPS modernization initiatives, which may include:
    • Systems Engineering planning, requirements development, and task execution for various GPS projects.
    • Assessing civil and military requirements related to Assured Positioning, Navigation, and Timing.
    • Formulating and reviewing technical specifications, program strategies, and engineering plans.
    • Conducting engineering evaluations and technical assessments.
    • Reviewing the integration and deployment of modernized GPS systems across military platforms.
    • Assessing original equipment manufacturer (OEM) technical performance and proposed solutions.


Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
  • U.S. citizenship
  • An active DoD Secret security clearance
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
  • Familiarity with defense acquisition management processes as outlined in DoD 5000 series directives
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A solid understanding of the OSD and USAF Acquisition structure
  • The ability to travel up to 10%


Preferred Skills

Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:
  • 10 years of relevant experience, with 4 years in a System Program Office
  • Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering principles
  • Experience with GPS integration on military systems
  • Level II DAWIA Certification in Systems Planning, Research, Development & Engineering
