The Senior Systems Engineer will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive, multi-disciplinary assistance to government system acquisition program management offices. This position involves acting as a key advisor to government personnel, leading collaborative working groups, and formulating engineering solutions to complex acquisition challenges.

This role encompasses support for various projects across multiple DoD acquisition program offices, engaging regularly with senior government officials, and often presenting briefings and leading significant meetings. Flexibility in work arrangements, including travel and remote options, is available to accommodate the needs of our diverse clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert multi-disciplinary support to government system acquisition management.
  • Lead and facilitate working groups to address major acquisition program challenges.
  • Engage with senior government personnel to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Deliver presentations and lead meetings to convey engineering solutions and strategies.

Qualifications:

To excel in this position, candidates should possess:

  • An active DoD Secret clearance.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of extensive technical and managerial experience within the DoD, particularly in systems engineering for major acquisition programs.
  • Specific expertise in Airworthiness and familiarity with MIL-HDBK-516.
  • A self-motivated, detail-oriented approach, demonstrating the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Top Secret clearance, with SCI eligibility.
  • A Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Prior experience as a Chief Engineer for ACAT programs.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) level knowledge of all sections of MIL-HDBK-516.
  • Experience integrating models with modern requirements management and systems engineering software.
  • Proficiency in developing and extending system models using existing requirements and design documentation.
  • Prior experience collaborating with various DoD stakeholders.
  • Experience in executing alternative/rapid acquisition authorities.
  • A broad background in developing, coordinating, and communicating system engineering strategies with mid- and senior-level personnel.
