Position Overview

As an Environmental Protection Specialist, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our water resources. Your expertise will contribute to the development of effective water program guidance and the provision of technical direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate policy recommendations for senior management.
  • Collaborate with national water experts to disseminate scientific and policy information.
  • Lead complex projects to achieve measurable outcomes and prioritize team efforts.
  • Implement activities aligned with the Clean Water Act (CWA) Section 320 National Estuary Program.
  • Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies, as well as private stakeholders.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must have:

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level, focusing on water program guidance.
  • Strong knowledge of CWA statutes, principles, and regulations.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage projects effectively.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Experience in addressing inquiries from various stakeholders, including Congress.
