Position Summary

Blue Water Thinking is in search of a seasoned Program Manager to oversee a significant initiative at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This role is pivotal in planning, initiating, managing, executing, and concluding programs, ensuring that program objectives are successfully met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and oversee multiple program streams, ensuring they align with the strategic objectives of the VA.
  • Assist the VA in achieving specific program targets, offering expert guidance and leadership throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Manage the planning, initiation, execution, oversight, and closure of intricate programs.
  • Provide strategic development and support to the VA, ensuring program alignment with the broader organizational strategy.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives within the VA, leading projects that cultivate a more inclusive atmosphere.
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure program goals are met and risks are effectively mitigated.
  • Track program performance, delivering regular updates and recommendations to VA leadership.
  • Oversee program budgets, resources, and timelines to guarantee successful delivery.
  • Develop and implement best practices in program management to enhance execution and outcomes.
  • Mentor and guide project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 10 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Over 3 years of experience managing a major program for a Government Agency or large-scale private organization.
  • Over 3 years of experience supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) projects.
  • Over 2 years of project management experience in a Government agency.
  • Over 3 years of experience in leading strategy development and support for a Government Agency or large-scale private organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Strong understanding of program management best practices and methodologies.
  • Experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Eligibility:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance for this role.

Compensation:

The salary for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the candidate's unique combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The proposed salary range for this position is $125,000 - $145,000.
