Position Summary

We are looking for a skilled and committed Applications Software Services Consultant to join our team, focusing on a significant initiative within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This role involves supporting Government Program and Project Leads in executing structured, thorough, and adaptable software development and program management efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate data transfer and extraction utilizing standard data formats such as JSON, XML, TSV, and CSV.
  • Engage in coding using languages including Objectscript, SQL, and DAX, while also participating in Power BI data modeling.
  • Design, develop, test, modify, and deploy web-based applications and enterprise-level data ETL processes.
  • Analyze supply chain databases and generate reports using various information management tools.
  • Craft and disseminate strategic communications for relevant programs and projects to the user community.
  • Evaluate existing database repositories to design enhanced information systems for decision-making.
  • Collaborate with management and stakeholders to ascertain end-user requirements and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, maintain, and deploy applications in web and database environments.
  • Gather and assess user feedback to recommend enhancements for existing software products.
  • Create technical documentation for current software solutions and guide future development projects.
  • Achieve and report on project milestones as established by Government Program and Project Leads.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 8 years of relevant industry experience.
  • 3 years of recent experience with technologies including C#, ASP & ASP.NET, TSQL, JavaScript, HTML, and other relevant technologies.
  • Proficient in data transfer and extraction using standard data formats.
  • Knowledgeable in coding languages such as Objectscript, SQL, and DAX, along with Power BI data modeling.
  • Expertise in software development practices, including program design and algorithm development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree.
  • Proficiency in Power BI data modeling.
  • Familiarity with database repositories and information management tools.
  • Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs or other federal agencies.

Eligibility:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance.

Compensation:

The salary for this position is influenced by various factors, including location, candidate qualifications, and organizational requirements. The anticipated salary range is $120,000 - $140,000.
