Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Manager to oversee a significant initiative at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This role involves planning, initiating, managing, executing, and concluding programs to ensure that program objectives are met successfully.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and oversee multiple program streams, ensuring they align with the strategic objectives of the VA.
  • Provide expert guidance and leadership throughout the program lifecycle to help the VA achieve its goals.
  • Manage the comprehensive planning, initiation, execution, and closure of complex programs.
  • Support the VA in strategic development, ensuring program alignment with broader organizational strategies.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives within the VA, leading projects that promote an inclusive workplace.
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure program goals are achieved and risks are effectively mitigated.
  • Track program performance, offering regular updates and strategic recommendations to VA leadership.
  • Oversee program budgets, resources, and timelines to guarantee successful delivery.
  • Establish and implement best practices in program management to enhance outcomes.
  • Mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 10 years of relevant industry experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing a large-scale program for a Government Agency or major private organization.
  • Over 3 years of experience in supporting DEI initiatives.
  • More than 2 years of project management experience within a Government agency.
  • At least 3 years of experience in strategy development and support for a Government Agency or large-scale private organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Strong knowledge of program management best practices and methodologies.
  • Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Eligibility:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance for this role.

Compensation:

The salary for this position is determined by various factors, including location, the candidate's specific combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The proposed salary range for this position is $125,000 - $145,000.
