Position Overview

We are in search of a proactive and seasoned Technical Leader dedicated to developing software that enhances developer productivity with a platform-centric approach. If you are passionate about alignment and facilitating progress, and possess a robust background in software architecture, the Autodesk Platform Developer Enablement team invites you to lead our distinguished team of architects.

In this role, you will report directly to the Vice President of Developer Enablement, guiding technology strategies for both current and future products and services that support our next-generation platform. You will establish standards, evaluate technology stacks, prioritize enhancement areas, and identify potential business and open-source collaborations. Your influence will be pivotal in realizing Autodesk's platform vision, driving transformation across various industries, and shaping the company's technical trajectory.

Our workplace embraces a remote/hybrid model, allowing you to collaborate with colleagues worldwide while traveling up to 10-15% for essential in-person engagements such as conferences and team gatherings. For those who prefer a traditional office environment, we maintain locations in several cities.

Responsibilities

+ Represent the Platform Developer Enablement team in the Architecture Council.

+ Establish standards that support both our organization and Autodesk's platform resilience and trust objectives.

+ Develop and manage both short-term and long-term technology roadmaps that align with our product strategies, ensuring they reflect technology directions, customer value, and enhanced developer efficiency.

+ Foster partnerships with various groups within Autodesk.

+ Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Experience Design teams to guide decisions on future platform and technology selections (build vs buy) while providing strategic and tactical direction.

+ Advocate for modern software development methodologies.

+ Maintain expert-level knowledge of architectural patterns, technologies, and industry trends.

+ Promote and embody Autodesk's corporate culture code.

+ Mentor architects and aspiring architects, guiding them on their career paths and fostering leadership development.

Minimum Qualifications

+ Over 10 years of experience in leading architecture and/or engineering in both desktop and cloud environments at a SaaS/product/technology organization.

+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience.

+ Proven track record as a Technical Leader or in a similar leadership capacity.

+ Ability to influence and shape the technical direction of the organization.

+ Experience in an enterprise architecture leadership role within a SaaS/product/technology company, focusing on platform development.

+ Familiarity with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and contemporary software development lifecycles.

+ Strong comprehension of business processes and the ability to drive digital transformation.

+ Demonstrated capability to inspire alignment between business and technical teams across diverse environments.
