Our Mission
SCHIE is responsible for delivering the essential infrastructure and foundational technologies that support over 200 online services, including Teams, OneDrive, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, Bing, MSN, and the Microsoft Azure platform on a global scale.

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Drive the architectural concepts and definitions at the platform, rack, and datacenter levels for Microsoft AI system products.
- Foster relationships with internal silicon development teams and technology partners to spearhead cutting-edge innovations in our upcoming products.
- Collaborate across Microsoft teams to deliver industry-leading solutions.
- Analyze and articulate architectural trade-offs involving electrical, signal integrity, mechanical, power, and thermal considerations, focusing on key metrics such as Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), performance, power efficiency, schedule, and risk.

Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of technical engineering experience, or a relevant degree combined with significant engineering experience.
- Proven expertise in AI platform and rack-scale server architecture and design.
- Experience in co-designing with datacenter, server, silicon, firmware/software orchestration, and manufacturing engineering teams.

Preferred:
- Experience deploying AI or GPU systems at scale within a cloud service provider or hyper-scale environment.
- Knowledge of AI training and inference workloads and their impact on hardware performance and efficiency.

Compensation
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year, with variations based on specific work locations.

Commitment to Inclusion
Microsoft is dedicated to fostering an inclusive work environment where all employees can thrive. We value respect, integrity, and accountability, and strive to create a culture that embraces diversity and empowers every individual.
