Legal Investigative Analyst

Position Overview: In the role of Legal Investigative Analyst within our vibrant legal team, you will play a crucial part in identifying, investigating, reviewing, responding to, and resolving issues related to the improper use of CoStar's content and services. This position necessitates extensive interaction with personnel across various levels and departments, particularly in sales and customer support. Strong communication skills, proficiency in Excel, and the ability to swiftly analyze and relay information through emails and phone discussions are essential, along with meticulous record-keeping and organizational capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Identify, prioritize, and investigate a diverse case load of inquiries, including unauthorized use of CoStar services, data theft, and infringement.
  2. Monitor and respond to incidents of password sharing, unauthorized access, and misuse of CoStar services or content.
  3. Engage in communication with involved parties regarding suspected misuse of CoStar offerings.
  4. Document processes and maintain organized records and case materials.
  5. Support initiatives aimed at safeguarding CoStar's intellectual property.
  6. Provide investigatory and additional support for legal matters as needed.
  7. Advise business team members on appropriate licensing practices.
  8. Develop and sustain a comprehensive understanding of the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) industry and CoStar's business model and technology.

Qualifications for Internal Candidates:

  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited, non-profit university or college.
  2. A minimum of 2 years' experience in an internal role with knowledge of real estate and technology, as well as familiarity with CoStar products and services.
  3. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to a dynamic workload.
  5. Capability to analyze, translate, and comprehend data effectively.
  6. Outstanding analytical abilities.
  7. Proficient in MS Excel, including filters, functions, and data organization techniques.
  8. Meticulous attention to detail.
  9. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  10. A proven record of commitment to previous employers.

Qualifications for External Candidates:

  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited, non-profit university or college.
  2. A minimum of 2 years' experience in areas such as password or license sharing resolution, licensing reviews, intellectual property protection, corporate investigations, digital forensics, or data analytics.
  3. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to a dynamic workload.
  5. Capability to analyze, translate, and comprehend data effectively.
  6. Outstanding analytical abilities.
  7. Proficient in MS Excel, including functions and data organization techniques.
  8. Meticulous attention to detail.
  9. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  10. A proven record of commitment to previous employers.
  11. Evidence of strong academic performance in college.
