Position Overview:
The Development Strategy and Governance Unit at the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) is seeking a qualified individual for the role of Research Analyst I. This full-time position is designed for a one-year renewable term at IFPRI's headquarters. The selected candidate will engage in research support for quantitative analyses across various subjects, including agricultural productivity, market dynamics, migration trends, agriculture-nutrition connections, public investment, and political economy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate data cleaning, maintenance, collection, and analysis utilizing statistical software.
- Support econometric analysis and various research methodologies.
- Conduct comprehensive literature reviews and synthesize findings.
- Assist in drafting and refining research documents, policy briefs, and presentations.
- Engage in knowledge sharing and stay updated on relevant literature and best practices in agriculture and economic development.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, International Development, or a related field, along with two years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree in the same fields.
- Proficiency in data management and analysis using statistical software.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver quality results within deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for conveying research findings effectively.
- Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills independently.
- Experience in conducting literature reviews and drafting research documents.
- Ability to prepare and deliver research presentations.
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration in a diverse team environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
- Openness to potential international travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in conducting research in developing nations.
- Background in research paper and proposal development.
Work Environment:
- Position requires prolonged periods of sitting.
- Ability to lift light weights as needed.
- Close visual acuity is necessary for data analysis and extensive reading.
Compensation: The anticipated salary range for this position is between $55,600 and $69,500, with consideration given to experience and relevant factors.
