With a dedicated team of approximately 75 staff members and an annual budget nearing $10 million, EBCLC stands as the foremost provider of free legal assistance in Alameda County, serving over 4,000 clients each year through comprehensive and collaborative legal services.

Position Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Staff Attorney and Clinical Supervisor to manage a diverse caseload of immigration matters while also mentoring law students. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional advocacy skills, including strong writing and interpersonal abilities, and will thrive in a team-oriented environment. Team Structure

The Immigration team at EBCLC comprises 7 attorneys, 4 paralegals/BIA Accredited Representatives, a program coordinator, and a social worker. Our legal professionals provide counsel and representation in various immigration matters, including:

  • Family-based petitions
  • Adjustment of status
  • DACA
  • Special Immigrant Juvenile Status
  • U-visas
  • Naturalization
  • Asylum
  • Deportation defense
  • Public benefits eligibility
  • Waivers
  • T-visas

The Staff Attorney and Clinical Supervisor will collaborate with community partners to deliver holistic legal services to clients referred through established medical-legal partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal representation to low-income immigrants across a range of immigration issues.
  • Engage in a holistic legal practice, offering direct representation and limited scope services to clients in need.
  • Work collaboratively with social workers and other attorneys to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
  • Supervise and mentor law students, including curriculum development and conducting interactive training sessions.
  • Conduct community outreach and educational workshops.
  • Participate in partnerships with other organizations that provide similar legal services.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to grant reporting and compliance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Immigration Program Co-Director.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting salary for this exempt position ranges from $85,000 to $106,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance, life and disability coverage, generous paid leave, flexible spending accounts, and retirement options.

Work Environment

In response to current health guidelines, EBCLC has adopted a hybrid work model. Staff members are expected to work in the office approximately three days per week to facilitate in-person meetings and client interactions.
