The College Internship Program Inc is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Life Skills Development Coach to join our team. As a Life Skills Development Coach, you will play a vital role in assisting students in building independent living skills competencies and routines to develop the ability to live independently after completing our program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Students in Building Independent Living Skills: Work closely with students to develop and implement personalized plans to enhance their independent living skills, including daily routines, time management, and self-advocacy.
  • Engage Students in Community Activities: Facilitate opportunities for students to engage in productive and meaningful activities within the community, promoting socialization, exploration, and connection.
  • Maintain a Safe and Healthy Environment: Ensure a high level of health and safety within the living environment and the community, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Conduct Executive Functioning Appointments: Provide individualized support to students through executive functioning appointments, coordinating with staff as needed to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Support Students in Handling Challenges: Utilize de-escalation techniques and other strategies to assist students in managing challenges and achieving their goals.
  • Collaborate with Staff and Families: Work closely with staff, families, and other stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and supportive approach to student development.
Requirements
  • Exceptional Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Experience in Crisis Management and Mentorship: Demonstrate expertise in crisis management and mentorship, with a proven track record of supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Independent Living Skills Experience: Possess experience in independent living skills, with a deep understanding of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Education and Certifications: Hold an Associate's degree (or in pursuit of) from an accredited institution in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field, with a preference for a Bachelor's degree.
  • Active Driver's License and Proficiency in Office Software: Possess an active driver's license and proficiency in office utility computer software programs.
  • Experience in Autism and Learning Disabilities: Have experience working with individuals with autism and/or learning disabilities, particularly in a residential setting.
