The College Internship Program Inc is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Life Skills Development Coach to join our team. As a Life Skills Development Coach, you will play a vital role in assisting students in building independent living skills competencies and routines to develop the ability to live independently after completing our program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Students in Building Independent Living Skills: Work closely with students to develop and implement personalized plans to enhance their independent living skills, including daily routines, time management, and self-advocacy.
  • Engage Students in Community Activities: Facilitate opportunities for students to engage in productive and meaningful activities within the community, promoting socialization, exploration, and connection.
  • Ensure Health and Safety: Collaborate with students to maintain a safe and healthy living environment, addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
  • Conduct Executive Functioning Appointments: Provide one-on-one support to students, conducting regular appointments to assess their executive functioning skills and develop strategies to improve their abilities.
  • Support Students in Handling Challenges: Utilize de-escalation techniques and other strategies to support students in managing challenging situations and behaviors.
  • Collaborate with Staff: Work closely with staff members to ensure seamless communication and coordination of student support services.
Requirements
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with students, staff, and families.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, ensuring accurate and thorough documentation of student progress and support services.
  • Organization and Prioritization: Possess superior organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Empathy and Awareness: Display genuine empathy and awareness of the needs and sensitivities of students, families, and staff.
  • Education and Experience: Hold an Associate's degree (or be in pursuit of) in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field. Possess crisis management experience and independent living skills expertise.
