Role Summary

We are in search of a Senior Director of Business Development to spearhead our growth initiatives within the U.S. Government sector for Publicis Groupe and PlowShare. Reporting directly to an executive leader at PlowShare, this role will oversee government pursuits while also managing significant opportunities across various agencies within Publicis. Additionally, contributions to nonprofit endeavors may be required.

The ideal candidate will harness our exceptional capabilities to formulate and implement marketing and sales strategies aimed at generating new business revenue. This includes assessing relevant past performance and operational prerequisites to bolster growth within our Government sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Craft strategic plans with actionable steps to enhance business from existing clients and increase market share.
  • Drive lead generation initiatives and formulate capture strategies.
  • Continuously refine the new business process and pursuit plans to boost pipeline growth and conversion rates.
  • Support thought leadership and content marketing initiatives.
  • Expand the opportunity pipeline through timely identification and qualification of new business prospects, leveraging technology and inter-company collaboration.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with business partners, including both large and small enterprises.
  • Lead the identification, qualification, and pursuit of strategic business opportunities.
  • Utilize market intelligence and competitive data to inform targeted pursuits and advanced marketing strategies.
  • Participate in bid decisions and the development of pricing strategies.
  • Coordinate and lead agency pitches and proposals.
  • Conduct research and analysis on financial, technological, and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and mitigate competitive threats.
  • Manage and mentor a business development associate in maintaining agency collateral and marketing intelligence.
  • Utilize CRM systems to enhance target engagement and support marketing efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Director to develop pricing strategies that maximize market share.
  • Prepare comprehensive sales and marketing reports.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, including at least 5 years in government contracting, with a focus on:

  • Proven sales and business development experience with government programs and established relationships with government program officers.
  • Ability to effectively engage with major government prime contractors.
  • Demonstrated skills in strategy development, execution, and leadership.
  • Capability to manage competing priorities and adapt approaches as necessary.
  • Familiarity with federal market intelligence resources.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to work collaboratively within diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
  • Exceptional leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Strong negotiation, planning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform complex calculations related to pricing and financial analysis.
