About the Role

Tau Six is seeking a highly skilled Data Policy Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in supporting the Chief Data Officer (CDO) Directorate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on data policies and instructions, providing expert guidance to senior leadership.
  • Editorial Quality: Review materials within the CDO Directorate to ensure editorial quality, consistency, and compliance with established style, format, and content standards.
  • Data Policy Development: Design, develop, and implement data policy documentation and standards, ensuring alignment with DoD guidance and policies.
  • Research and Analysis: Research and prepare written analyses or summaries from multiple sources, expressing data-centric technical information in a comprehensible manner.
  • Policy Solutions: Provide policy solutions to support data-related services and perform reviews to ensure adherence to DoD guidance and policies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Respond effectively to inquiries, tasks, and requests related to data policy and governance, serving as a trusted resource for stakeholders and SAP CDO Directorate.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with cross-functional teams, various high-level stakeholders, and senior technical individuals.
  • Regulatory Updates: Monitor regulatory updates and data-related developments to proactively adapt policies and practices to evolving standards.
Requirements
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance: Candidates must possess an active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Information Management, Data Science, or a related technical field, is required. Alternatively, 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement. An Associate's degree and 2 years of relevant work experience may also be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
  • Experience in Data Governance: 7+ years of experience developing data standards and/or operating data governance efforts.
  • Policy Development: 7+ years dedicated to supporting policy development and generating requirements.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Desired Experience
  • Data Governance and Compliance: Experience in data governance, compliance, or a related field with a focus on data policy development supporting DoD programs.
  • Prior Experience: Prior experience supporting Special Access Program (SAP) and working with OSD, Joint Staff, or Service Staff levels.
  • Technical Skills: Exposure to ML, AI, and programming languages such as Python and R, as well as experience with data ontologies and strong writing and communication skills for collaboration with senior Government and/or Military personnel.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex regulatory requirements and develop practical, scalable solutions applicable to the DoD environment.
  • Database Technologies: Familiarity with various database technologies (SQL, NoSQL), data integration (ETL/ELT) frameworks, data security (ZTA, ICAM, ACCM) and DoD cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Data Modeling and Analysis: Expertise in data modeling, data warehousing, and advanced data analysis techniques including AI/ML/NLP, and data profiling.
  • Process Engineering: In-depth knowledge and skills in applying new data technologies, data management processes, system analysis, and process engineering concepts to recommend optimal implementation approaches, assess the impact of new policies, and lead implementation efforts.
