About the Role:

As an Event Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional hospitality and service across various settings. Your commitment to fostering positive interactions with clients, guests, and team members will be essential, as you embody our core values of hospitality, excellence, integrity, and an entrepreneurial spirit. Strong communication skills, a robust work ethic, and a genuine passion for food and beverage service, along with event logistics, are crucial for success in this position. The ideal candidate will consistently demonstrate professionalism and expertise in hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of assigned events, including delivery, setup, execution, and breakdown of catering elements, ensuring teamwork and a sense of urgency.
  • Assign roles to staff members such as Servers, Bartenders, and Sanitation Assistants, managing schedules and breaks in compliance with labor laws.
  • Lead the service process, communicating effectively with the team while maintaining a swift pace throughout.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with Event Chefs, fellow Captains, and other staff during service.
  • Educate team members on menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and beverage offerings.
  • Uphold high standards of cleanliness and appearance in all event spaces.
  • Enforce venue policies and health regulations to ensure a safe environment.
  • Review event documentation beforehand and provide constructive feedback.
  • Manage inventory accurately, ensuring proper handling and return of beverages and equipment.
  • Ensure timely preparation of wines, beers, spirits, and cocktails for service.
  • Mentor staff, emphasizing the importance of both skills and positive attitudes.
  • Complete post-event reports promptly, providing detailed insights to enhance future events.
Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of experience in event catering.
  • Availability for on-demand scheduling.
  • Some supervisory experience is preferred.
  • TIPS Certification is a plus.
  • NYC Food Handler's Certificate is preferred.
