Position Overview

City Winery Event Operations Supervisors will oversee the logistical execution of events in collaboration with the Manager on Duty (MOD). They will engage in food and beverage service as directed by the MOD, liaise with the kitchen team, and uphold the standards outlined in the Events Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Training. City Winery Event Operations Supervisors will deliver exceptional hospitality to clients and their guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the MOD to implement the event logistics plan for the day prior, setup, hands-on execution, and post-event breakdown.
  • Establish effective communication with the MOD to review logistics and provide on-site support, ensuring the event meets client expectations.
  • Maintain the event's quality and ensure it runs smoothly.
  • Foster positive brand impressions to build lasting relationships with clients and guests, contributing to business retention and growth.
  • Work closely with the Event Sales Team, Executive Chef, Winery Department, General Manager, and Front of House Managers to fulfill event requirements.
  • Execute the service strategy as outlined by the MOD.
  • Regularly check in with the MOD to confirm that service standards, event timelines, and menus are being executed as per client expectations.
  • Organize, print, and distribute detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) with MOD approval to ensure seamless coordination with other departments.
  • Manage equipment inventory, place and receive rental orders, and coordinate rental pickups.
  • Ensure the venue is fully prepared and organized for event execution.
  • Assist the MOD with external vendors, including equipment load-in and load-out, and overall rental organization.
  • Oversee printed materials such as menus and labels.
  • Complete post-event tasks, including room resets, organizing rental equipment for return, and ensuring operational supplies are ready for the next shift, all in accordance with MOD expectations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of experience in event operations management or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategizing and executing on-premise events.
  • Understanding and appreciation of the music, food, and wine industries.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and organizational abilities; results-driven.
  • Capability to follow directions from the MOD.
  • Aptitude for resolving challenging situations with composure.
  • Exceptional hospitality and customer service skills.
  • Proven event operations skills and dedication to operational excellence.
  • Ability to multitask, delegate, and manage several responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Functional knowledge of health department regulations and related guidelines.
  • Physical capability to meet the demands of the position, including standing and walking for extended periods, bending, pulling, pushing, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • Fluency in English, with the ability to read, write, communicate, perform basic business-related mathematics, and accurately operate a POS system.
