Description: Key Responsibilities

Primary Objective

Responsible for the preparation of financial data in the form of financial statements and other reports to aid management in decision-making processes. This role involves conducting analyses for the inclusion in the Company’s financial statements for all necessary submissions to regulatory bodies such as the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Additionally, it encompasses the preparation of non-public external financial reports and various internal documents, including analyses for Corporate Headquarters. The position demands accuracy and timeliness in all tasks. Provides technical expertise to support business partners across the organization on a variety of projects and tasks. Assists the regulatory team in evaluating financial data to prepare testimony and responses to data inquiries as required. Operates with minimal oversight and may be called upon to engage in special projects or to mentor less experienced analysts.

This role supports both External and Internal Financial Reporting teams. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the preparation of SEC filings such as Forms 10-Q and 10-K, internal financial report generation, financial data analysis resulting in various management reports, account activity evaluations, and the preparation of schedules to support the month-end accounting close process. Aids in ensuring the timely completion of month-end close activities and accurately responds to data requests under strict deadlines.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

Prepares financial reports (which may include financial statements) to assist management in decision-making and conducts analyses of financial outcomes for SEC reporting and Corporate Headquarters reporting. Supports internal stakeholders with financial insights and research documentation while resolving accounting and reporting issues in alignment with Company policies. Investigates complex and unusual variances in financial results, monitors discrepancies, identifies key factors, and recommends actions to management. Prepares schedules for general and deferred rate cases, leveraging knowledge to respond to data requests from stakeholders and contributes to the development of witness testimony. Enhances productivity by automating accounting processes and coordinating information requirements. Compiles and analyzes financial data for additional federal reporting as necessary. Reviews regulatory transactions calculated by the Rates Department for inclusion in financial statements and records those transactions. Prepares and records journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting, including account reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts. Ensures adherence to internal controls, identifies deficiencies, and proposes improvements. Supports activities related to internal and external audits. Maintains compliance with all relevant policies, codes, and regulations applicable to the position and the company. Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field from an accredited institution and 6+ years of progressive experience in accounting. If the degree is in a related field, completion of college-level accounting coursework required for Nevada CPAs is necessary. Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated technical knowledge, including research into new accounting guidance and SEC and FERC regulations. Strong understanding of financial reporting and the Company's business processes. Proven project management, prioritization, and multitasking abilities. Strong analytical, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Proficient in interpreting accounting, financial, and economic information. Equipment and Applications

General office environment. No special physical demands required. Compensation

Annual Salary: $100,700 (Min) to $118,400 (Mid); Up to 15% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company. This is a non-represented position.
