Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a skilled Construction Financial Specialist to join our dynamic team at McCord Group Construction Recruiting Solutions. This role is essential for ensuring the financial health of our projects and the overall organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to monitor company assets, liabilities, and overall financial performance.
  • Conduct general cost accounting and related functions within the finance department.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other financial reporting standards.
  • Maintain the general ledger and manage journal entries accurately.
  • Set up new accounts and perform balance sheet reconciliations, assisting with monthly financial close processes.
  • Oversee monthly account reconciliations and month-end financial duties.
  • Assist in the annual audit process to ensure transparency and accuracy.
  • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal financial regulations.
  • Support payroll functions as required.
  • Manage accounts receivable processes, including billing, collections, payment applications, and write-offs.
  • Coordinate and review customer contracts from the bidding phase through to contract acceptance.
  • Prepare bids in collaboration with the estimating department to ensure timely delivery to customers.
  • Establish job specifications to guarantee compliance with awarded contracts.
  • Maintain and track fixed assets effectively.

Required Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and practices.
  • Proficiency in all facets of accounting operations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with Sage 100 or similar construction accounting software is preferred.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of accounting experience is required, with a strong preference for experience in the construction industry.
