Key Responsibilities

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-focused respiratory care, adhering to departmental requirements and professional standards. As an essential member of the patient care team, the Respiratory Therapist conducts various diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, monitoring patients on both invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting and documenting patient assessments, including evaluating breath sounds and airway conditions.
  • Administering respiratory therapies such as oxygen delivery and aerosol treatments.
  • Assisting with the placement of artificial airways and managing mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitoring patient responses to therapies and intervening as necessary.
  • Transporting patients who require ventilatory support.
  • Responding to emergency situations to ensure airway integrity and ventilation during resuscitation.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) credentials.
  • An Associate Degree in a relevant field.
