Your contributions are vital. Each role impacts our patients' lives, and you have the chance to make a significant difference. We are seeking a committed Respiratory Therapist RRT to enhance our team.
Key Responsibilities
The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-focused respiratory care, adhering to departmental requirements and the scope of practice standards for the relevant state and specialty. As an essential member of the patient care team, the Respiratory Therapist performs various diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures while monitoring patients on both invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation.
Key Duties Include:
- Conducting and documenting patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure, and performing diagnostic procedures to determine the necessity and effectiveness of respiratory therapy.
- Administering respiratory care therapies, such as oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assisting with the placement of artificial airways and managing mechanical ventilation.
- Monitoring patients for therapeutic responses and notifying providers to intervene as necessary in case of unintended responses.
- Assisting in the transportation of patients who require ventilator support.
- Responding to emergency situations to ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as needed.
Qualifications Required:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) credential.
- Associate Degree in a relevant field.
