JOB SUMMARY: As an Event Medical Technician, you will provide essential medical support at various events. Your role involves assessing patient conditions, formulating care plans, administering treatments, and determining the best course for patient release or transport. This position operates on a contractual basis as needed, requiring the ability to work independently while delivering exceptional customer service. While events are primarily located in the Flagstaff area, opportunities may arise in nearby regions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver proactive medical care and remain prepared to assist others during assignments.
  • Conduct thorough examinations to identify signs of illness or injury and collaborate with other medical staff as needed.
  • Provide prompt basic life support within the scope of your certification and according to established protocols.
  • Document all patient interactions and treatments accurately in EMS reports, including necessary non-medical information.
  • Perform regular checks on medical equipment to ensure it is clean, functional, and ready for use.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of basic life support equipment and its proper application.
  • In the absence of other qualified personnel, manage the patient's environment to minimize risks and control bystander actions.
  • Adhere to all communication regulations when using electronic devices.
  • Participate in mandatory meetings as scheduled.
  • Assist in setting up and dismantling medical facilities as required.
  • Communicate supply needs and restock items to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
  • Complete all necessary reports and logs, using electronic devices or paper as required.
  • Support the training of new employees following established protocols and complete relevant documentation.
  • Must meet the qualifications and responsibilities outlined for the Emergency Medical Technician-Basic role, adhering to local, state, and national standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB

This role involves lifting and transporting patients and equipment, navigating various terrains, and handling delicate medical items. You will need to assess emergency scenes and communicate effectively with patients and colleagues, both verbally and through electronic means, while driving emergency vehicles in various conditions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work conditions may include exposure to extreme temperatures, hazardous materials, and outdoor emergencies.

NOISE LEVELS ASSOCIATED WITH THE JOB

Noise levels may vary from moderate office sounds to loud environments typical of large events.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a 911/EMS system or as an Emergency Technician in a trauma center.
  • National and/or State certification as an Emergency Medical Technician, as per state requirements.
  • Current CPR certification from an accredited organization.
  • IV training and competency.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with company protocols and safety policies.
  • Ability to operate large vehicles under various conditions.
