Position Overview

As a Market Associate, you will report directly to the Grocery Department Manager, playing a key role in delivering outstanding service and high-quality products to our cherished customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional, friendly, and knowledgeable customer service, ensuring every customer leaves satisfied.
  • Welcome customers, assist them in locating products, and address their grocery needs.
  • Maintain proper product display and merchandising standards throughout the store.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of both the sales floor and storage areas.
  • Follow instructions and procedures as directed by your manager.
  • Safely operate and utilize store equipment.
  • Conduct daily inspections of shelves for spoiled or damaged products and maintain proper stock rotation.
  • Keep accurate records of spoilage, transfers, and inventory shrinkage.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent customer service and accuracy.
  • Dedication to providing quality products, supporting local suppliers, and promoting environmental stewardship.
  • Effective communication skills, particularly with English-speaking customers.
  • A sense of humor and a passion for engaging with customers.
  • Flexible availability, including mornings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • In an 8-hour workday: standing or walking for 6-8 hours.
  • Hand use includes single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
  • Work involves bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
  • Exposure to various temperatures, including freezing and refrigerated environments.
  • Ability to work in wet and cold conditions.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
