Position: Nutritional Services Manager

Benefits and Compensation:

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Nutritional Services Manager to oversee our Nutritional Services team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure food quality, safety standards, and client satisfaction are consistently achieved.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of department personnel, financials, food supplies, inventory levels, and equipment.
  • Engage in menu development, accommodating patient preferences, dietary restrictions, and current industry trends.
  • Conduct meal inspections to ensure standards for presentation, taste, temperature, and serving times are upheld.
  • Oversee the preparation and distribution of special dietary needs and supplemental nutrition.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation regulations throughout food preparation and service processes.
  • Implement HACCP guidelines to protect food integrity at all stages of preparation and service.
  • Manage the physical facilities to meet federal and state food safety regulations.
  • Develop cleaning schedules and maintain equipment to ensure food safety standards are met.
  • Process diet orders and modifications, keeping dietary records current.
  • Interview patients to assess dietary needs, calculate nutritional intake, and collaborate with Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN) to create suitable dietary plans.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and confidentiality in all practices.
  • Review and adjust nutritional care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Utilize evidence-based educational resources to inform patients and staff about dietary guidelines.
  • Support the RDN and Nutritional Services Director as required.
  • Manage the department budget, implementing cost-effective strategies and overseeing revenue-generating services.
  • Utilize forecasts, inventory records, and food waste data to plan procurement of food and supplies.
  • Collaborate effectively with patients, staff, physicians, vendors, and other service providers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position (80 hours biweekly) with shifts from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, including rotating weekends.

  • Experience in food service

The Nutritional Services department at Fitzgibbon Hospital is dedicated to providing high-quality meals to patients, residents, employees, and visitors.

Café Fitz, located near the main entrance, offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner on weekdays, along with a variety of snacks and refreshments.

Our Nutritional Services team ensures timely meal delivery to patient areas, offering personalized options to meet individual dietary needs.

Position Requirements:

This role requires frequent standing, walking, and the ability to lift and carry weights between 20-45 lbs. Excellent customer service skills are essential. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. The candidate will help maintain a clean and organized work environment and supervise the tray line while adhering to menu guidelines.
