As a non-profit community hospital, Fitzgibbon Hospital plays a crucial role in the health and wellness of the communities it serves. We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Nutritional Services Manager to enhance our Nutritional Services department.

Nutritional Services Manager Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure food quality, safety standards, and client satisfaction are consistently achieved.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of department personnel, financial transactions, food supplies, inventory levels, and equipment management.
  • Engage in menu development, accommodating patient preferences, substitution lists, therapeutic diets, and current industry trends.
  • Oversee meal inspections to ensure standards for presentation, taste, temperature, and serving times are upheld.
  • Manage the preparation and distribution of special nourishments and supplemental feedings.
  • Ensure food is prepared according to production schedules, menus, and standardized recipes.
  • Supervise staff to guarantee adherence to safety and sanitation regulations, including safe receiving, storage, preparation, and serving of food.
  • Safeguard food during all phases of preparation, holding, service, cooking, and transportation, in accordance with HACCP Guidelines.
  • Manage physical facilities to ensure compliance with federal and state food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Develop cleaning schedules and maintain equipment to uphold food safety standards.
  • Process new diet orders and modifications; ensure diet cards are current.
  • Complete assigned MDS sections within required timelines.
  • Interview patients to assess dietary needs, calculate nutritional intake, and formulate appropriate dietary plans in collaboration with RDN and in compliance with physicians' directives, while adhering to ethical and confidentiality standards.
  • Review care plans related to nutritional status; document issues that can be addressed to enhance clients' nutritional health and eating capabilities.
  • Revise and implement, in collaboration with the IDT, the patient's nutrition assessment and care plan.
  • Utilize evidence-based educational resources to instruct patients and staff on fundamental dietary information.
  • Support the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and Nutritional Services Director as necessary.
  • Oversee the food service department budget, implement cost-effective strategies, and manage revenue-generating services.
  • Employ forecasts, food waste records, inventory, and equipment records to plan purchases of food, supplies, and equipment. Assist in the procurement process.
  • Collaborate effectively with patients, staff, physicians, consultants, vendors, and other service providers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Shift:
  • Full-time (80 hours every two weeks)
  • 6am - 2:30pm - Rotating Weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in food service
  • Strong communication skills
Position Requirements:
  • Frequent standing, walking, and lifting/carrying 20-45 lbs.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Supervise tray line operations and collaborate with menus.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service.
