About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tribal Account Executive to join our team at the Department of Energy. As a key member of our government relations team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with elected tribal governments and intertribal regional and national advocacy organizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage BPA relationships with tribal governments and advocacy organizations to advance national and regional programs and policies.
  • Advise executive and senior management on technical expertise and policy perspective in program development and review.
  • Exercise knowledge of government-to-government consultation requirements and facilitate regular meetings between tribal governments and BPA Administrator.
  • Negotiate and manage grants, contracts, and agreements with tribal governments and organizations.
  • Use personal initiative and relationships to anticipate and resolve problems and concerns related to BPA-tribal transactions.
  • Evaluate BPA programs and policies for compatibility with tribal interests and compliance with federal trust responsibilities.
Requirements
  • Must be a United States Citizen.
  • Must meet time-in-grade requirements for current Federal employees.
  • Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) in the Federal service.
Qualifications

A qualified candidate's resume must demonstrate experience in applying communications principles, methods, practices, and techniques to build strong relationships with tribal leadership. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing authoritative advice and guidance to executives, managers, and staff on policy directives and programs.
