The Chief Financial Officer role is with a prominent construction firm recognized for its excellence in the New England region. This organization is a leading General Contractor with a strong focus on the Commercial Sector, known for its impressive project pipeline and a loyal client base. The CFO will play a pivotal role in steering the financial and accounting operations while collaborating closely with the CEO and the Executive Leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the annual budgeting cycle and set critical strategic financial objectives.
  • Lead the Finance and Accounting team, promoting a culture of excellence, teamwork, and ongoing professional development.
  • Develop and nurture accounting talent, ensuring a high-performing finance team through effective hiring and training practices.
  • Manage relationships with external partners including CPA firms, regulatory agencies, and oversee compliance matters, including audits and tax filings.
  • Establish and implement structured working capital management strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Team to establish, monitor, and report on financial performance, KPIs, and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure comprehensive analysis of the company’s revenues, expenses, investments, and programs, providing insights and recommendations to the Executive Leadership team.
  • Identify and analyze opportunities for cost efficiencies.
  • Implement risk management strategies to safeguard the financial stability and profitability of the organization.
  • Prepare and deliver financial reports on a regular basis with precision and timeliness.
  • Offer strategic guidance on capital investments and expenditures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • MBA, Master’s in Finance, or CPA designation preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in the Construction Industry is essential.
  • Proven track record in Executive Finance Leadership roles.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as Timberline/Sage300, Procore, or similar platforms.
  • Demonstrated success in team development and leadership.
  • Strong strategic planning and executive communication skills are critical.
