Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tribal Government and Stakeholder Relations Manager to join our team at Energy Trust of Oregon. This role will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with Tribal governments and Native communities across Oregon and SW Washington to understand their needs, monitor and inform Tribal government policy developments, and connect Tribes and Native communities with Energy Trust programs and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies for Energy Trust discussions and engagement with Tribal governments to create mutually beneficial agreements and partnerships.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with Tribal governments and Native communities to understand their needs and interests.
  • Coordinate interaction with Tribal government program and department leadership, regional Tribal organizations, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver presentations and serve as a media spokesperson for Energy Trust.
  • Identify relevant events, memberships, communication, and marketing needs.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Native American Studies, Environmental Resources, Archeology, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in Tribal relations, government relations, or community relations, and conducting outreach to Tribal customers or communities.
  • Deep understanding of Oregon and SW Washington Tribal governments and Native communities, their history, culture, protocols, traditions, governance, and priorities.
  • Experience working with Tribal governments and their members, clear understanding of Tribal consultation processes, and experience developing strategic outreach and engagement plans.
  • Knowledge of community-based organizations serving Tribal governments and Native communities in Oregon and SW Washington.
  • General knowledge of energy efficiency and renewable energy development programs.

  • Competitive starting salary $81,600 - $102,800 commensurate with skills and experience, Full Pay Range $81,600 - $124,000.
