About Our Client

The Chief Financial Officer - Construction will be part of a prominent construction firm recognized for its excellence in the New England region. This organization is well-regarded in the industry and has a robust portfolio of commercial projects with a strong client base.

Role Overview

  • Oversee the annual budgeting process while setting pivotal strategic financial objectives.
  • Lead the Finance and Accounting team, promoting a culture of excellence, teamwork, and ongoing development.
  • Enhance accounting capabilities and cultivate a high-performing finance team, responsible for recruitment and training initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with external partners, including CPA firms and regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance and oversight of audits and tax filings.
  • Establish and implement effective working capital management strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Team to set, monitor, and report on financial performance, KPIs, and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure comprehensive analysis of the company's financial activities, providing insights and recommendations to the Executive Leadership team.
  • Identify opportunities for cost efficiencies and implement strategies accordingly.
  • Develop and enforce risk management protocols to safeguard the organization's financial health and profitability.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate financial reports on a regular basis, ensuring timely dissemination of information.
  • Advise on capital investments and expenditures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • MBA or Master's Degree in Finance, or CPA designation preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in the Construction sector is essential.
  • Significant experience in Executive Finance Leadership roles.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as Timberline/Sage300, Procore, or equivalent.
  • Proven history of team leadership and development.
  • Strong strategic planning and executive communication skills are critical.
