Position Overview:

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Control Systems Cybersecurity Analyst to contribute to our Cybercore Analysis division. This role operates on a 9x80 schedule, allowing for every other Friday off, and reports to the Senior Manager of the Analysis department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive technical evaluations of cyber threats targeting industrial control systems utilized across various sectors, including military and critical infrastructure.
  • Serve as a key contributor with expertise in intelligence analysis, cybersecurity, and engineering disciplines.
  • Lead collaborative initiatives with fellow analysts, control systems experts, power engineers, and cyber researchers to execute a blend of short- and long-term technical projects.
  • Transform complex information into clear, concise written reports, presentations, and strategic documents tailored for non-technical stakeholders, leveraging in-depth knowledge of engineering practices or computer science principles.
  • Integrate technical proficiency with threat assessment to mitigate cyber threats aimed at industrial control systems within essential infrastructures, such as electrical grids, oil and gas pipelines, nuclear facilities, and transportation networks.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Educational background: Bachelor’s degree with 5-9 years of relevant experience, Master’s degree with 2-6 years, or Doctorate with 2-4 years of relevant experience; or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Demonstrated experience in producing published analyses on cybersecurity topics or industrial control systems in critical infrastructure is highly desirable.
  • Experience in intelligence analysis and authoring reports for governmental entities is preferred. Background in computer sciences, cybersecurity for operational technology, or industrial control systems is advantageous.
  • Eligibility for obtaining and maintaining a Department of Energy "Q" clearance and SCI, requiring U.S. Citizenship.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range for this position: Level 3 ($91,008 - $186,588) / Level 4 ($109,260 - $223,908), determined by education, relevant experience, and credentials.
