Position Overview

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Control Systems Cybersecurity Analyst to join our Cybercore Analysis division. This role operates on a 9x80 schedule, allowing for every other Friday off. You will report directly to the Senior Manager of the Analysis division. Control Systems Cybersecurity Analysts conduct comprehensive technical evaluations of cyber threats targeting industrial control systems utilized across various sectors, including military, energy, and critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as an individual contributor with specialized knowledge in intelligence analysis, cybersecurity, and engineering disciplines.
  • Spearhead collaborative initiatives involving multiple analysts, control systems experts, power engineers, and cybersecurity researchers to fulfill a diverse range of technical projects.
  • Synthesize complex information into clear, concise written reports, presentations, and strategic documents for non-technical stakeholders, leveraging extensive knowledge of engineering practices or computer science principles.
  • Integrate technical acumen with threat analysis to mitigate cyber threats against industrial control systems (ICS) within essential infrastructures, such as the electrical grid, oil and gas pipelines, nuclear facilities, military bases, and transportation systems.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum experience: Bachelor's degree with 5-9 years of relevant experience, Master's degree with 2-6 years, or Doctorate with 2-4 years of relevant experience; or equivalent years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • A portfolio of published analyses on cybersecurity topics or ICS within critical infrastructure is highly desirable.
  • Experience in intelligence analysis and serving as a principal author of reports for governmental entities is preferred. Educational or professional background in computer sciences, cybersecurity for operational technology environments, or ICS is beneficial.
  • Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy 'Q' clearance and SCI, which necessitates U.S. Citizenship.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • The salary range for this position is: Level 3 ($91,008 - $186,588) / Level 4 ($109,260 - $223,908). Compensation decisions are based on education, relevant experience, and other qualifications.

  • This is a multi-level position, and placement will depend on the depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.
