Job Overview

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Control Systems Cybersecurity Analyst to join our Cybercore Analysis division. This role is structured around a 9x80 work schedule, allowing for every other Friday off. You will report directly to the Senior Manager of the Analysis division. The primary function of Control Systems Cybersecurity Analysts is to conduct comprehensive technical evaluations of cyber threats targeting industrial control systems utilized across various sectors, including military operations and essential infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as an individual contributor with specialized knowledge in intelligence analysis, cybersecurity, and engineering disciplines.
  • Spearhead collaborative initiatives involving multiple analysts, control systems experts, power engineers, and cybersecurity researchers to execute a blend of short- and long-term technical projects. We are looking for proactive analysts committed to achieving results.
  • Synthesize complex information into clear, concise written analytic reports, presentations, and strategic documents tailored for non-technical stakeholders, leveraging a deep understanding of engineering practices or computer science principles.
  • Integrate technical knowledge with threat assessment to mitigate cyber threats against industrial control systems (ICS) within critical sectors such as the electrical grid, oil and gas pipelines, nuclear facilities, military sites, and transportation networks.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree with 5-9 years of relevant experience, a master's degree with 2-6 years of relevant experience, or a doctorate with 2-4 years of relevant experience; or equivalent years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Candidates with a portfolio of published analyses on cybersecurity topics or ICS in critical infrastructure will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in intelligence analysis and authorship of reports for governmental entities is preferred. Educational or professional background in computer sciences, cybersecurity for operational technology environments, or ICS is advantageous.
  • This position necessitates the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy 'Q' clearance and SCI, which requires U.S. citizenship.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • The salary range for this position is: Level 3 ($91,008 - $186,588) / Level 4 ($109,260 - $223,908). Compensation decisions are influenced by factors such as education, relevant experience, and additional credentials.
