Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

As a Certified Respiratory Care Specialist, you will engage in essential care and diagnostic procedures critical for the management of cardiopulmonary conditions across all age groups. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up and managing various respiratory care apparatus.
  • Executing a variety of technical procedures related to cardiopulmonary function.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in airway management.
  • Conducting thorough patient assessments and accurately interpreting diagnostic results.
  • Delivering respiratory therapy and timely reassessments while maintaining precise documentation.
  • Regularly communicating with healthcare providers regarding patient care strategies.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Preferred experience in an acute care hospital setting.

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Current Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification for NICU staff.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification for ICU staff.
