Position Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a dedicated, certified wound ostomy care nurse to enhance our team. Our department specializes in wound care and ostomy services within a 368-bed acute care facility.

In this role, you will:
  • Provide direct care for patients with ostomies, pressure ulcers, and complex wounds.
  • Conduct pre-operative and post-operative education for patients and their families.
  • Perform thorough nursing assessments and develop care plans to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Consult on clinical services for patients with various skin and wound care needs.
  • Offer education and emotional support tailored to the patient's circumstances.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for nursing staff, providing training and support.
Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
Certification from the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB) as a Certified Wound & Ostomy Specialist is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact RN license is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory, along with Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
