We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at St. David's Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for administering respiratory care to patients, conducting diagnostic procedures, and monitoring patient responses to therapy.
Responsibilities- Administer and monitor respiratory care treatments, including oxygen therapy and mechanical ventilation.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to therapy, including pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analysis.
- Record pertinent information in patient medical records and communicate with healthcare team members to ensure seamless care.
- Perform noninvasive and invasive diagnostic tests and monitoring, including pulse oximetry and capnography.
- Clean, maintain, and calibrate respiratory care equipment as required.
- Function as a respiratory care protocol assessor, ensuring adherence to established protocols and guidelines.
- 1-3 years of experience in acute care hospital setting, preferably in respiratory therapy.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Graduate of approved respiratory certification program or sufficient college credits to qualify for certification exam, preferred.
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license by the State of Texas.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist exam must be taken and passed within 6 months of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as per St. David's HealthCare policy.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification as per St. David's HealthCare policy.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification as per St. David's HealthCare policy.
