Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented IT Support Specialist to join our team at JWCH Institute. As an IT Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of our computer systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Technical Support: Provide first-level support for incoming requests for assistance from JWCH users, evaluating and prioritizing issues, and resolving problems in a timely and efficient manner.
  2. Problem-Solving: Use diagnostic procedures to identify and resolve technical issues, including hardware, software, and network problems.
  3. System Configuration: Set up and configure computer systems, including PC setup, software installation, and printer troubleshooting.
  4. Documentation: Accurately record problem information on our system and monitor progress of incidents, documenting each interaction or attempted interaction with users.
  5. Technical Documentation: Review and monitor technical documentation, licensing, and upgrades to ensure our systems are up-to-date and running efficiently.
  6. Project Support: Assist the Program Manager with complex projects, providing technical expertise and support as needed.
  7. Asset Management: Assist with asset management, network support, connectivity, telecom, project management, cellular telephones, PDAs, and procurement.
  8. Device Troubleshooting: Configure and troubleshoot problems related to multifunctional office devices, such as fax machines, photocopiers, scanners, postage machines, cellular telephones, and PDAs.
  9. Travel and Lifting: Requires travel from site to site and light lifting.
  10. Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  1. Education: Associate Degree in a related field or equivalent experience as an IT Assistant or IT Technician.
  2. Driving Requirements: Must be able to drive in the State of California.
  3. Software Skills: Proficient in MS Office Suite Applications.
  4. Technical Experience: Experience working with LAN/WAN connectivity issues, x86 hardware problems, cellular telephone and PDAs preferred.
  5. Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of an organization and with individuals from diverse backgrounds, disciplines, and levels of technical experience.
  6. Organizational Skills: Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize work.
  7. Certification: Experience with A+ preferred.

JWCH Institute offers competitive salaries for all positions. Employees working 30 hours per week or more are provided a monthly allowance which can be used towards medical, dental, vision, and life insurance premiums. The agency offers sick leave and vacation accrual, 11 paid holidays, jury duty pay, mileage reimbursement, employee parking, direct deposit, credit union, and an employee assistance program. In addition, JWCH offers a 401(k) Profit Sharing plan to employees who work a minimum of 1,000 hours per fiscal year.
